What is a tank heating pad?
The Chromalox Silicone Laminate Tank Heater Pad is an industrial heat pad suitable for plastic tank heating and metal tank heating. Tank heating pads are designed to directly transfer heat to a tank's surface in order to maintain a consistent specific temperature, which is evenly distributed.
What is the Chromalox Silicone Laminate Tank Heater Pad made of?
The tank heating pad is constructed of high temperature resistance wire laminated between two layers of fiberglass reinforced silicone rubber. The heater pad is protected by a thin, flexible, water and chemical resistant stainless steel sheath.
Can this heat pad be used for both plastic tank heating and metal tank heating?
The tank heating pad is available in two watt densities. The 0.7 watts per square inch silicone pad heater is suitable for plastic tank heating (polypropylene, polyethylene and other heat sensitive vessels). The 2.0 watts per square inch silicone pad heater is suitable for metal tank heating.
What are the applications for a tank heating pad?
Industrial heating pads may be used for freeze protection or process temperature control for metal or plastic tanks and vessels. Heat pads not only provide thermal energy to the contents of the tank but also, by maintaining a consistent temperature, can help preserve the tank itself by preventing cracks due to cold weather. Installing a tank heating pad is much faster and easier than using conventional heat trace cable and an optional tank heater pad mounting kit is available for installation.
